Poems by Fred "The Poet" Server, a 75-year-old campus "lodestar and legend," anti-war activist, and former acrobat. Illustrations by Michelle Nosco, then a recent high school graduate and still a working artist. A miscellany of verse touching on social issues of the day including, but not limited to, whether it is wise to wear a mini-skirt when the weather is very cold; what to do with a sack of soybeans from the health-food store; and how pleasing it is to have a Beard. From the opening of lines of The Rise and Fall of the Dynasty of King Gillette: "Beard will not block love / If love is not bluff, / Love can be deeper than deepest beard."
