Brooklyn: [ca. 1985]. Wraps. 4to. Black binder containing text for Dlugos' collection, with his small address label affixed inside front cover. Very good plus; pages show moderate edgewear, but overall clean, bright. 105pp. Very good +. Item #21792
Small, privately-printed and -circulated editon of Dlugos' collection STRONG PLACE, not published until 1992 by Amethyst Press after his untimely death of AIDS. As David Trinidad wrote in the introduction to that edition, Dlugos shopped around the manuscript in the mid 1980s but couldn't find a publisher. A revealing detail of the typescript is Dlugos' address, listed inside the binder: 31 Strong Place, Brooklyn, in the Cobble Hill neighborhood. An interesting record of the career of this highly-regarded, increasingly legendary poet. PROVENANCE: Poet, writer, and editor Michael Friedman, whose first book was published by Dlugos.
