A carefully composed personal photo album from an SDSC alumnus, memorializing the Mechanical Building, North and Central Buildings, the gymnasium, President's residence, and several campus overview, along with his work on a surveying crew and several family portraits. Most intriguing, however, is the clear artistic and authorial intent, with practically every picture credited, most to George or "GRW." A self-portrait, "George - by himself - and --" is followed by two portraits of a woman in a bedroom, identified only as "His-- / also by himself."
Several photographs of a family cat, named as one "'Toots' Westcott," allow us to identify the primary photographer: listed in 1907 South Dakota Agricultural College records as George R. Westcott, B. S., Registrar; Asst. in Wood Shops.
