Lincolnwood, IL: Moog Synthesizers, (1976). First Edition. Single sheet, 8.5" x 11" approx. printed recto and verso. Very minor toning. Near fine. Near fine. Item #16796
Advertisement for the Minimoog Synthesizer, a landmark instrument in 20th century pop music. Modular synthesizers had been used extensively in the studio, but were cumbersome and expensive. With the release of the minimoog in 1970, synthesizers could be taken on tour and were more affordable to the general consumer rather than just the music industry professional. In fact, the language of this advertisement is directed at non-professionals, marketing the minimoog as "the one that stars do it with." A striking bit of ephemera advertising a major innovation that paved the way for an explosion in electronic music in the late 20th century.
