[New Braunfels, TX]: (1974). 69 approximately 4.25" x 3.5" color snapshot photographs loose, plus a color brochure and printed menu from the fest. Faint odor of must to contents. Otherwise clean, sharp, well preserved. Very good overall. Very good. Item #15972
A small archive of color photo prints of a group of friends attending the 1974 WURSTFEST in New Braunfels, Texas, an annual German heritage festival, held since 1963 and boasting a current attendance of over 100,000 people. The 1974 fest drew an estimated 75,000. Images capture a quintessential mid-1970's Texas style in an innocent and engaging vernacular style. The period color and often blurred shots of debauchery, dancing, drinking, etc. compose an artful snapshot collection strikingly reminiscent of the era mined by Richard Linklater in his 1993, Austin-set film, DAZED AND CONFUSED. Dude.
