Text in German, with English and French translations. Illustrated throughout with black and white plates. Reproduces the photographs from Blossfeldt's books, as well as an additional 30 photographs, largely unknown. Includes a 1928 essay by Walter Benjamin. Blossfeldt produced these close-up images of plants in part to assist the designers he taught at Berlin's Arts and Crafts School, and has been celebrated as a pioneer of New Objectivity.
