Edited and published by Raymond Foye and Francisco Clemente, Hanuman featured various countercultural figures, writers, and artists in a series of palm-sized books issued throughout the 1990s and designed to evoke small Indian prayer books. Ginsberg's contribution to Hanuman is an essay on William Blake (with Blake's illustrations throughout). Inscription is to Ken Mikolowski of Ann Arbor's Alternative Press, who for over 30 years published unbound letterpress mail art featuring works by Beat and Black Mountain poets. Ginsberg was a regular collaborator.
