A lovely copy of this high point in nautical literature. Slocum's first-person account of the first solo circumnavigation of the globe. Though the copyright page provides dates of 1899 and 1900, the publisher's list to the rear jacket panel lists ten titles, each printed in 1927, and the volume's size is slightly smaller than the first Century printing (7.5" x 4.75" approximately). Likely a ca.1927 printing, thus. Given the copyright date of 1900, later printings are often erroneously described and offered as the first edition. Still, an early and handsome copy of this classic narrative. Scarce in jacket. 294pp.
